Please follow this template to turn in your reader responses:
I) Most Important Ideas/Themes in the Texts—Use complete sentences:
1. It is vital to keep loyal to one`s better half in one`s marriage.
2. Communication and understanding are crucial in people`s life.
3. Life is an art which needs many tips.
“My responsibility is not to paint a flattering portrait; My responsibility is to paint a real portrait, a true portrait”--Lahiri
III) A quote from the text that stood out for you and your own original ideas/reactions/responses to the author’s words (total here, not including the quote, should be around 300 words):
“A woman, not yet thirty, who loved neither her husband nor her children, who had already fallen out of love with life”
At the very beginning of this reading, I feel normally a happy family is going on a nice vacation outside. When Mrs. Das tells her secret especially, I was suddenly shocked and felt that Mrs. Das isn`t a qualified wife and mother. She is lost in the marriage and romanticized in her correspondence with the interpreter in a doctor`s clinic. Mrs. Das takes her husband and his money for granted.
I think sins without proper and timely reconciliation is going to eventually erode in one`s soul and mind at a very high price.
IV) Two additional questions you have about the text (ask questions that begin with Why/What/How):
1. What would Mr. Das react if he knew Bobby`s problem?
2. What advice would Mr. Kapsi give Mrs. Das hearing Bobby`s birth problem?
